Celtic v Hearts Saturday, Feb.16th 10:00am SPL

It seems like such a long time since our last visit, but we finally head back home to Celtic Park for a game. This will be the third time we have faced the Jam Tarts at Parkhead this season and the series currently stands at one win apiece. We beat them 5-0 in the league but lost 2-0 in the CIS Cup. Given the last two displays by Celtic – 5-1 away wins over Kilmarnock and Aberdeen – I fully expect Saturday’s game to go the same way as our previous league meeting. Not to say that we’ll score five times again, but we are playing with a verve and style we haven’t seen since early in the season. We finally have most of our casualties back and, along with the addition of our transfer window new Bhoys, we can see the benefit of the added competition for places. Even this auld, grumpy nyaff almost smiled at McGeady’s magic in setting up our fourth goal in Aberdeen. Three points against Hearts will see us close the gap to one point at the top of the SPL. Rangers go to Kilmarnock on Sunday and the fun begins.

Celtic v Barcelona Wednesday, Feb.20th 2:45pm Champions League

Celtic is in great form, Barcelona is not, and therefore Celtic will beat Barcelona. I wish it was that simple. Barcelona is one of the top teams in the world, a team full of great footballers. Messi, Henri, Ronaldinho, Deco and Pulyol are just some of the names that come to mind. There are many, many more. But the game is at Celtic Park where we have a pretty good record in this competition. Barca has just about blown any chance they might have had to regain the Spanish title so they will want to go all the way and win this trophy. That means that they will be out to beat us home and away so we had better be prepared for a battle.

St Mirren v Celtic Sunday, Feb.24th 09:00am SPL

As the schedule currently stands five of our next six league games will be away from home. Two home games against Rangers and Dundee Utd have still to be scheduled so that ratio may be improved. Our last visit to Love St resulted in a 5-1 win for the Bhoys so we can only hope for a similar result this time around.
